The collection consists of almost all of the student projects for the Wonderland Award contest from 2005 through 2011 including the artist's statement that is submitted along with the student's project. The collection includes paintings, essays, stories, sculptures, video presentations, games, scrapbooks, a quilt, and many other types of assemblages based on Lewis Carroll and his creations, especially Alice. The Wonderland Award Submissions Collection is comprised of nearly 250 student entries for the annual contest related to Lewis Carroll. The award was established in 2004 with the sponsorship of Linda Cassady. The primary purpose of the Award is to promote and encourage the use of the G. Edward Cassady, M.D. and Margaret Elizabeth Cassady, R.N. Lewis Carroll Collection, held in Doheny Library at USC.

Lewis Carroll, born Charles Lutwidge Dodson was born in England at Daresbury, Cheshire, to Charles Dodgson, an Anglican clergyman, and his wife Frances Jane Lutwidge on January 27, 1832.
